The Storm Prediction Center has placed a large part of Ohio under a "Slight Risk" for severe storms on Wednesday (8/24). The risk area includes those living along and northwest of the Interstate 71 corridor. A strong storm system will move through the upper Great Lakes on Wednesday and drag a cold front across the state. Strong upper-level winds will combine with the front to produce strong storms. The storms could include damaging winds, large hail and even the threat for an isolated tornado or two. The risk for severe storms may go well into the night Wednesday night through Thursday morning before the front clears the state Thursday afternoon. Behind the front, cooler, less humid air will arrive. However temperatures will still remain near or slightly above normal the rest of the week and into the weekend.

We will be monitoring the storms as the develop and head for Ohio in the ONN Weather Center and have LIVE coverage on ONN.
