Jim Heath

Statehouse Correspondent, Moderator of Capitol Square

Jim Heath became ONN's Statehouse Correspondent in August 2009.

A native of Van Wert, Ohio, Jim majored in Broadcasting at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University in Tempe, Ariz.

Jim brings more than two decades of experience in television and political reporting to his position. Prior to joining ONN, he served as the main anchor and political reporter at the ABC affiliate in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

He also worked as an anchor and reporter in southern Arizona. Jim spent several years in the political arena, serving in various capacities, including a 5-year stint as a Congressional press secretary in Washington, D.C.

His honors include an Emmy nomination for writing, producing and anchoring, "South Carolina: On the Road to the White House." He has also received several "Best Live Reporting" awards from the Associated Press.

Jim regularly hosted and moderated dozens of live, free-flow debates and forums on the air. He was the only anchor in the state of South Carolina to land interviews with all 2008 presidential candidates.
