A man suspected of shooting a Zanesville police officer and his canine partner was taken into custody Monday by an FBI task force, ONN Affiliate 10TV News reported.
Canton police said the man was arrested shortly after 1 p.m.
Zanesville police Officer Mike Schiele, 29, was serving Dominick Conley, 20, with a misdemeanor warrant Sunday about 8:30 p.m. when police said Conley opened fire, 10TV's Tino Ramos reported.

The shooting occurred at the intersection of Cliffwood Avenue and Indiana Street.
There was apparently a struggle between Schiele and Conley, prompting the officer to call the dog for assistance.
Conley then allegedly opened fire, hitting the officer and the dog.
Schiele, a 6-year veteran of the department, was treated and released Monday from Grant Medical Center, while his canine partner Bosco was being treated at The Ohio State University Veterinary Hospital for gunshot wounds to the neck.
On Monday afternoon, veterinarians said the dog had suffered paralysis to its front legs, but was showing some movement in its hind legs, 10TV's Jeff Hogan reported.
Police said they were working with prosecutors to prepare additional charges against Conley, who before the shooting was wanted on charges of assault and criminal trespassing.
