Riding a horse for a self-described "control freak" is no easy task.

Lisa Hinson said it's the hardest things she's ever done in her life.

"To be able to overcome your fears and be able to work with an animal like that," Hinson said. "It was really a stretch for me. I've grown a lot because of that sport."

Hinson has been in the Public Relations field for more than two decades. First, she worked with The Limited Company, and then formed her own firm.

She said mentors along the way not only educated her about the "ins and outs" of the business, but allowed her to build her confidence.

"I recognized how critical it is to mentor young women," Hinson said. "That's a key piece of advice I would give anybody looking either on the professional side or the community side."

Hinson is a tireless supporter of several charitable organizations in central Ohio. Plus, she focuses on creating the next generation of confident and successful women by providing two paid internships a year at Hinson Ltd.

Hinson is one of six YWCA Women of Achievement. The 25th class will be honored at a luncheon on April 7, 2010 and ONN will feature each incredible woman in our "Ohio's Woman" segment on Wednesdays.
