Hope Paolini was born and raised in North Canton and knows how important the Hoover Company was to her city.
"It's a part of our fabric. Our high school is named after the Hoover Company," said Paolini.
Her grandfather once worked in the factory. In fact, she said that almost everyone in town had someone in their family that worked there.
"That's how people identify themselves. They identify themselves with their career, and it's just so important to bring some of that back," said Paolini.
Her company is bringing 300 jobs back to area from work that used to be done in China.
Suarez Manufacturing Industries will assemble EdenPURE space heaters in a one of the old Hoover buildings.
They will fill the 200,000 square foot warehouse with machines, people, and life again, reported ONN's Cristin Severance reported on Friday.
Paolini said that it gives her chills walking through the old factory.
"It's so incredibly humbling to see where so many jobs were housed and lost. We have to succeed," Paolini said.
Not just succeed, but become iconic.
Paolini is hoping that Suarez Manufacturing will mean to her kids what the Hoover Company once did to her.
"They want to be a part of this. They don't care how, even if they have to draw a picture of a heater and tell me to take it to work," said Paolini.
The Hoover vacuum cleaner factory was based in Canton for a hundred years before closing down.
