Fabric sits, waiting for the creative eye of Elizabeth Bourgeois.
"I was a costume and scenic designer. I liked dressing actors and telling stories with clothing," said Bourgeois.
From Broadway in New York to television and movies in L.A., she created hundreds of outfits during her career.
She's now traded in the bright lights of entertainment to raise her children in the quieter environment of central Ohio, reported ONN's Harrison Hove.
She started crafting clothes for her little ones to keep her skills fresh.
"I need to make some clothing for my own kids, that has character so it is lovely, not just a t-shirt and sweat pants," Bourgeois said.
The idea snowballed and turned into a clothing line called Team Chipmunk.
Bourgeois will debut her fall line soon with peacoats, knickers, dresses, and her famous t-shirts, all with plenty of personality and character made from vintage material.
She's saved thousands of yards of vintage cloth from area landfills.
"They're (customers are) reducing waste. They are. It's a gift to the kids they are buying these clothes for," Bourgeois said.
The ride has been an exciting one. Team Chipmunk is taking off and this stay-at-home mom has a budding business up-cycling vintage cloth into cool children's clothes.
"It's a learning curve, how you go from being a small do-it-yourself artist to being a manufacturer," said Bourgeois.
Her creative concept has also caught the eye of Martha Stewart. Bourgeois will be featured in an upcoming issue of Martha Stewart Living magazine.
