Baby Adrianna loves to swing outside in the late summer sun. Her mom has diapered her in cloth for more than a year.
"We've got enough trash going out on a daily basis so it's nice to just rinse them," said Anissa Knickerbocker.
She uses a service that delivers freshly cleaned cloth diapers weekly.
Bundle of Joy Cloth Diaper Service owner Diana McCartney said millions of disposable diapers go the landfill each year.
"Disposable diapers are the second largest contributor to landfills after your disposable waste products such as beverage containers and newspapers," she explained.
In fact, she washes 300,000 cloth diapers each year and keeps four dump trucks worth of disposable diapers from going to the landfill.
Adriana loves to play with her mom, whether it's in her kitchen or with other toys. She gets to enjoy being a kid without the fights with diaper rash or absorbent chemicals.
Instead, she will feel the wetness right away, helping her potty train faster.
"They can feel it against their skin therefore they can let you know when they're wet and start potty training earlier," said Knickerbocker.
McCarty said children usually potty train between 12 and 18 months earlier when wearing cloth diapers.
That's adds up to a huge savings for mom and dad.
"You save about $1,000 in diapers even with the cost of the service which is pretty significant per child," said Knickerbocker.
