The oven is fired up and the dough is being tossed as skilled hands make delicious pizzas at ZPizza in Columbus.
"Three types of mushrooms are on it. It starts with a nice roasted garlic base. It has mozzarella and feta cheese. It's also finished off with truffle oil and thyme," said ZPizza's Veronica Flores, as she describes her favorite pizza.
Pizza can be healthy and sustainable for your taste buds and waistline, reported ONN's Harrison Hove.
ZPizza combines a mix of vegetables and meats to make healthy pizzas. The pepperoni is nitrate and MSG free, if you're a meat lover. There are also plenty of meat-free options.
"We also offer gluten free options so we have gluten free pizzas, vegan, and vegetarian options are abundant," said Flores.
There are several different sauces and most are organic.
"The ingredients made to grow that product are free from any chemicals," added Flores.
Many Ohioans are trying this unique and healthy pizza for the first time. They usually order and taste first, then ask questions later.
Flores said most enjoy the great taste, but are happy to hear about the sustainable ingredients sitting right there on their plates.
"I think they're genuinely surprised that healthy food, food with a conscious can be so tasty."
