A Pepper Pike mom has one kid at Orange High School and two more in the district.

She kept them all home this week after bomb threats were made Sunday targeting the high school, ONN's Cristin Severance reported on Wednesday.

"I don't know their complete motive if they decide to lash out at other people," said the mom. "I just didn't want my kids to be one of the targets and I don't want one of my kids hurt either."

The threats were emailed and refereed to the colorless explosive PETN, which stands for Pentaerythritol tetra nitrate, and is an extremely powerful plastic explosive.

The high school was searched several times using bomb sniffing dogs. The FBI and police are investigating.

"If there was very little evidence and there was nothing to worry about than everyone would be back in school," said the mom.

Classes were cancelled Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

School security expert Ken Trump said that it was a tough call.

"It's hard for law enforcement and school officials," said Trump. "If you cancel school today and tomorrow, then when do you open it back up? Do you wait until you identify the threat maker?"

School was supposed to be in session Wednesday until a decision the district made a decision Tuesday night to cancel it again.

"When we took a look at the anxiety levels and the nervousness of some of our parents, staff and students, we thought the best thing to do was to close again today," said district spokesman Lou Devincentis.

Devincentis said that Wednesday was spend communicating with parents and school will resume Thursday.

"We are confident the building is secure and safe," Devincentis said. "When school does open Thursday, students will enter through one door and no backpacks or large bags will be allowed. They'll also be an extra police presence."

"Hopefully this is resolved," said the mom. "It's just unnerving."

The district sent home a letter late Wednesday afternoon answering questions and addressing concerns.

The letter also outlined the changes and extra security measures at the high school Thursday.
