Ohio University campus police on Thursday night issued an alert to students that said an alleged bank robber was spotted on campus.
Police were in the process of searching the campus.
Investigators said that Caudill last was spotted in the area of Union and Shaffer streets.
According to the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office, Billy Caudill robbed the People’s Bank, located at 55 N. High St. in Carroll, on Wednesday morning.
The robbery prompted the lockdown of Bloom-Carroll Local Schools.
Sheriff’s officials said that Caudill likely was armed and could be dangerous and advised people to stay away from the area.
