Police in northeast Ohio said that a woman shot by a police officer at a Cleveland area McDonald's did not have a gun, as authorities had believed.
Willowick police said that the woman claimed to have a weapon Wednesday night when she allegedly ordered everyone to leave the restaurant and then led the manager outside. The manager said she felt something pressed against her back that she thought was a gun.
During that time she made a 911 call that has been released by police.
While on the phone with dispatchers, the manager calmly evacuates customers and workers, with what the suspect said was a gun to her back.
Police said that the woman pushed the manager away and made what an officer said was a threatening gesture toward him, so he fired twice.
Willowick police Chief Michael Lazor said that the area was searched but no weapon turned up.
The woman's injuries were not life-threatening. No one else was hurt.
No charges have been filed.
