Workers at the Cincinnati casino construction site are clearing away the 60 by 60 foot section of floor that collapsed last Friday, injuring more than a dozen workers. One of the injured  workers remains in the hospital listed in serious condition.

Casino developer Rock Ohio Caesar said the company got permission from city officials to start that work on the fallen section.

Cincinnati's chief building officer Amit Ghosh said local officials will check in almost everyday to make sure the project is moving along safely.

"We don't want delays, but delays for safety is acceptable. I'm trusting OSHA is taking good look," said councilmember Wendell Young.

Young is pleased the project is moving forward becuase he said Cincinnati's economy is depending on it.

"It's a huge shot in the arm for our economy. We want to see it happen, but we want to see a safe project," said Young.

Local businesses are hoping to get the casino up and running.

"I'm very eager for casino to happen. It will help this town a lot," said Andy Agee, taxi driver.

Rock Gaming told ONN-TV that by next Wednesday or Thursday, the debris should be cleared away and the work force will be 200 again.

It is expected to take several months until OSHA completes its investigation. Messer Construction has assigned a second full time safety manager to the site.
