Four people were arrested in Mercy County on Tuesday for stealing farm animals.
Ricky L. Crouch, 50, of Bryant, Ind., and Chad M. Crouch, 28, of Celina, were charged with breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony, according to a release.
Lisa R. Crouch, 42, of Bryant, Ind., and Christina L. Crouch, 29, of Celina, were charged with receiving stolen property, a first-degree misdemeanor.
Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey said that his office had received several reports in the last few weeks indicating the theft of hogs from a farm on the Ohio-Indiana state line.
An investigation determined Ricky and Chad Crouch were removing hogs from the barn and taking them to 600 North in Bryant. Both Lisa and Christina Crouch were arrested at a local livestock company in possession of the stolen hogs, attempting to sell them.
All four are being held in the Mercer County Detention Facility.
The incident led to local authorities requesting a search warrant in Indiana where more stolen hogs were located. Ricky and Chad Crouch were taken into custody and incarcerated in the Jay County Jail for the Ohio breaking and entering.
Mercer County Sheriff's Deputies were assisted by the Jay County Sheriff's Office in this investigation.
