At least eight people are injured after a head-on crash between a truck and a Middletown City Schools bus carrying an estimated 45 students, reported ONN affiliate WHIO-TV.
The crash occurred shortly before 8 a.m. at 6138 Manchester Road in Franklin Township.
The truck driver, who officials said was not wearing a safety belt, was seriously injured after going partially through a window, according to WHIO-TV reports.
At least eight students suffered non-life threatening injuries. The school bus driver suffered a leg injury, and reports indicated six people were taken to Atrium Medical Center.
Both the bus and the truck sustained heavy damage in the crash.
Authorities said the truck may have slid and clipped another truck before going head-on into the school bus.
The bus was a Middletown City Schools bus. School officials said the bus was providing shuttle service for students attending a private Christian school, according to The Associated Press.
