More than two dozen vehicles were involved in a crash on I-76 in Portage County Saturday, causing a major portion of the road to be shut down, according to ONN's affiliate WEWS Channel 5.
The wreck happened just before noon.
Crews shut down the westbound lanes of I-76 at State Route 43 in Brimfield Township.
Dispatchers said that this portion of the road will likely be closed for hours.
The Brimfield Township Police Department said at least 25 vehicles were involved in multiple crashes in the westbound lanes. Officers said the crashes spread from I-76 in Tallmadge (MM 28) into Brimfield on I-76 (MM 31).
The chief posted on the department's Facebook page that there were no serious injuries.
