The Cleveland couple who refused to provide cancer treatment for their 8-year-old son was sentenced on Thursday.
Monica Hussing, 37, and William Robinson, 40, both of Cleveland, agreed to a plea deal in January. The couple each pleaded guilty to a single count of involuntary manslaughter in the 2008 death of their son, Willie.
Hussing and Robinson were both sentenced to eight years in prison and immediately taken into custody, ONN's affiliate WEWS reported.
The couple was indicted in 2009. They admitted in court they had not provided any of their six children with medical treatment for the three years prior to Willie's death.
The coroner ruled that the boy died from pneumonia due to Hodgkin lymphoma, a highly treatable cancer.
