Walker's first job as a reporter was at WTVR-TV (CBS) in Richmond, Va., where he worked general assignment and state capitol beats, as well as produced documentaries and anchored weekends.
Moving to Washington, D.C. in 1979, Walker has spent more than 20 years since covering the nation's capitol. He has worked for various media groups, including the Post Newsweek stations, Fisher Broadcasting and currently the Dispatch Broadcast Group.
Tom's work in Washington has spanned five presidents. He has covered numerous federal agencies, state, local and presidential campaigns, court cases at all levels; spot news stories that have taken him around the country, and outside the U.S.
Walker attended the University of Florida and Virginia Commonwealth University, with a Bachelor of Science degree from VCU.
Tom is a native of Richmond, Va., is married and currently lives in Alexandria, Va.
