Mark Taylor

Meteorologist

Mark Taylor is ONN's early morning meteorologist.

After serving as ONN's weekend meteorologist, Taylor was promoted to the morning role as weather anchor.  Before joining ONN as a weekend meteorologist and environmental reporter, Mark was a weekend meteorologist at WLEX-TV in Lexington, Ky., and a morning meteorologist for WOAY-TV in Beckley, W.Va.

While severe weather is his passion, it was the big snows that has peaked his interest in weather. Taylor has experienced several blizzards while living along the East Coast, including the Superstorm of 1993.  He has also witnessed five hurricanes first-hand: Gloria, Bob, Erin, Georges and Irene.

Mark is a member of the American Meteorological Society and has earned the designation of Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM). The CBM is the highest level or certification given by the American Meteorological Society and replaces the AMS Seal.   Taylor is actively seeking the National Weather Association's Television Seal of Approval.

Taylor graduated from Lyndon State College in Vermont with degrees in meteorology and television studies.

For fun, Mark enjoys skiing and working out. He is also a mentor for Big Brothers and Big Sisters in central Ohio. Once a serious baseball player, he tried out to be a pitcher for the Boston Red Sox, his hometown team, but as you can see, he didn't make it.
