SYLVANIA, Ohio — As Joanna Koenigseker got out of her car in Sylvania for the first time, she was knew she was home.

"(I had) actually came kicking and screaming, wasn't thinking of living in a small town," said Koenigseker.

But Koenigseker fell in love with what a lot of people do in Sylvania.

"It's just an outstanding place to live, it really is. Live, work, play and that's why we say we have it all," added Pat Nowak from the Chamber of Commerce.

That Includes a college campus right in town.  Lourdes College, a religious based campus, now serves 2,300 students.

"If you walk the campus of Lourdes college, you'll want to be a part of it. If you walk the streets of Sylvania you'll want to be a part of Sylvania," said Bob Helmer, Lourdes College President

If you want to get away from city life, you don't have to travel far.

Inside the city of Sylvania you'll find Olander Park, which has bike paths, water and a small beach, reported ONN's Stephanie Mennecke.

The city is being recognized as one of Ohio's Best Hometowns by Ohio Magazine.

So the secret is out, but people like Koenigseker have known it all along.

To her, Sylvania is the perfect place to call home.
