UNDATED — School sporting events and government meetings are being canceled and Ohio is putting more than 1,000 trucks into service clearing roads as a snow spreads across the state.

Virtually all of Ohio is under a winter storm warning until at least Wednesday evening. The National Weather Service forecasts up to 10 inches of snow, just days after a weekend storm that dumped a foot on some areas.

School basketball games and wrestling meets were called off Tuesday, but Xavier University announced its women's basketball team would still play St. Joseph's on Wednesday morning and was offering free admission.

The Cincinnati and Toledo school districts were among dozens that closed for the day, and most Columbus students went home early. In Cincinnati, Mayor Mark Mallory canceled his "Mayor's Night In" meeting with residents.
