COLUMBUS, Ohio — The second largest campus in the county was shaken Tuesday after a triple shooting.

Two Ohio State University employees were dead, and one was hospitalized, ONN's Denise Alex reported.

The shooting happened around 3:30 Tuesday morning when Ohio State police got a 911 call.

About two minutes later, police said they found three people shot at a campus maintenance building across the street from the Horseshoe.

Larry Wallington, 48, was found dead. He was a maintenance building supervisor, Alex reported.

His family and neighbors were in shock when they heard the news.

"It's like wow," said family friend Donel Braswell. "He was part of the family, and I can't believe he's really gone. It's tough, real tough."

Wallington worked at OSU for 10 years.

Shift leader Henry Butler, 60, was also shot. He was taken to The Ohio State University Medical Center.

Police said Nathaniel Brown, 51, was believed to be the shooter. He died hours later from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Alex reported.

Police said Brown arrived at his third-shift custodial job dressed in dark clothing. He was armed with a backpack and two handguns.

University administrators said Brown was a probationary employee and recently received a poor performance review.

"He was simply walking into work where he normally would come and started shooting," said OSU Police Chief Paul Denton. "It all began in an office area."

A half dozen co-workers who were in the building during the shootings were offered counseling.
