Alleged Drunk Driver Hits Three People Outside Ohio Union

An Ohio State cheerleader is in custody after police say he hit three people with his car while drinking and driving early Sunday morning.

It happened at the Ohio Union on High Street around 2:30.

Police say the driver, 20-year-old George Karadimas, told them he was an OSU cheerleader, who did not attend the game in Texas.  He was driving erratically when he hit three people standing near a emergency command post.

The three people hit were an Ohio State Vice President, her husband and a firefighter.  The university vice president, who has not been identified, and her husband were taken to OSU Medical Center.  They are both expected to be okay.  The firefighter was treated at the scene.

Karadimas was arrested and charged with aggravated vehicular assault with other charges pending.
