Security Camera Catches Double Murder

Reported by Laura Cole

Security camera video from in front of a west Columbus nightclub shows a gunman taking aim and firing into a crowd of people, initially killing one person.

The shooting in front of the Downtown Dolls club in the 1300 block of West Broad Street became a double homicide on Tuesday when a second victim died.  Columbus Police are still looking for the killer in the double homicide but are armed with the surveillance video to help them find the gunman.

Columbus Police say they need the publics help identifying a man seen in the video wearing a white shirt and a Chicago White Sox baseball hat. He is now wanted for killing two security guards at the nightclub and injuring one other.

Elder Conley's son Andrew Jason was one of those guards.

He was a child that had a beautiful heart," Conley said.

Now, she says she prays police will be able to find her son's killer.

I pray that he (the killer) will have no peace, no joy, no happiness, until he comes forth and confesses for what he has done, and repents for what he has done, and that he receive Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior," Conley added.

George Carter's son, David, was also shot and killed.

David was a loveable son. David was a master of all trades. David could do everything, Carter said.

Carter said his son worked at the Downtown Dolls to support his daughter and another child on the way.

Tuesday night, he had a message for David's killer.

"The person that did this to my son, I'm angry as hell. I hope I catch you before the police do," said Carter.

Police say the man they are trying to identify from the surveillance video is their only suspect in the murders. Anyone recognizing him is being asked to call Columbus Police. The departments non-emergency line is 614-645-4545.
